The divine powers and blessings of dieties which usually stay within the walls of the temple flow out with their procession from the temple into streets of the city. This is the concept behind every Utsav (festival) in temples. It is belived that with the procession of the deities all the ills of the society come to an end.
“Bhagavath Sapthaham” is also conducted every year.
Navarathri Mahotsavam, Vijayadashmi are celebrated in a very grand manner.
This famous temple is situated at the heart of the Calicut city, accessible from the moffusil bus-stand Calicut. The temple owns a Kalyanamandapam with a beautiful and decorated stage for conducting marriage ceremonies. This temple has a large space for parking facilities. Kalyanamandapam of a capacity of 800 people with a dining hall well furnished has the capacity of serving meals for 340 people at a time. Well equiped kitchen with cooking gas fire-wood facilities are also available. At present construction work is being carried out for a store and an office. This temple is under the esteem control of the Malabar Devaswom Board.
